We’re excited to announce the relaunch of our revamped and permissionless NFT Marketplace following months of development and your valuable feedback. As part of this relaunch, we'll migrate Chelobricks and Substrapunks from the Quartz network, a Kusama parachain, to the Unique network, a Polkadot parachain. The move marks the first step towards an open, permissionless, decentralized marketplace.

Before launching the new marketplace, we need to temporarily shut down the existing marketplace starting June 14 at 2 PM UTC. During this temporary closure, we will prepare to migrate to the Unique Network. We understand this may cause inconvenience, but we believe the new marketplace's significant benefits outweigh any temporary disruption.

Here's what you need to know:

  1. NFT Transfer: Chelobrics and Substrapunk will move from Quartz Network to Unique Network. That means for a while you might not see them in your wallet, but don't worry your NFTs are secured and will be transferred back to your wallet once migration to Unique Network is completed.
  2. Your current NFTs: To facilitate the migration of NFTs from Quartz to Unique, we’ll burn and re-mint them on the Unique Network directly into users' addresses. This process ensures no duplicates of collections and allows for a seamless transition to the new network.
  3. Ownership and Decentralization: It's important to note the ability for our team to burn the collections was enabled on Quartz since it’s a canary network. However, this option won't be available on the Unique parachain. Once your NFTs are re-minted on the Unique Network, you will have full control and ownership and we will not be able to make any changes. This represents a significant step towards complete ownership and decentralization.

FAQs:

Q: What do you mean by returning tokens from the marketplace to a Unique address?

A: After the marketplace relaunch, we’ll transfer all tokens from the market back to users' addresses. After re-minting, you can view all your NFTs again in your Unique Wallet address.

Q. What about other collections the community minted on Quartz?

A: Your collections will remain on Quartz, You can list them for sale on the Quartz chain on the new marketplace. Alternatively, you can burn them on Quartz, re-mint them on Unique, and list them for sale on the Unique chain.

To burn your NFTs after the new marketplace is live, visit Unique Wallet, open the NFTs that you want to burn, and click the 'Burn token’ button

Also, if a user wants to delete an entire collection, they must first delete all tokens within that collection. Only then will they be permitted to delete the collection itself.

The collections also can be deleted from within the wallet. A “delete collection” button is on the collection settings page.

Q: Why are the tokens being burnt and not transferred?

A: Currently, there is no way to transfer NFTs from Kusama parachains to Polkadot parachains. The only way to transfer tokens is to burn or lock them on one chain and re-mint on another chain.

It's worth noting that the ability for the Unique Team to burn the collections was enabled on Quartz, given that Quartz is a canary network. However, this option won’t be enabled on the Unique parachain. This implies that after re-minting on Unique Network, you will be in full control of your NFTs and we will not be able to make any changes to them. This is the first step towards complete ownership and decentralization.

Q: Will I receive the same Chelobricks and Substrapunks on Unique Network?

A: Yes, they’ll be the same. We’re moving the Chelobricks and Substrapunks from Quartz to Unique Network

Q: When will the new marketplace on Unique Network be launched?

A: We expect to launch within 2-3 weeks after closing the current marketplace. Watch our channel for the exact date and new features we plan to launch.
